PRAYER SUPPORT - BENEVOLENT HELP - FOOD/CLOTHES CLOSET - JAIL MINISTRY
This ministry provides compassionate support and encouragement to those facing difficult circumstances. The purpose of the ministry is to meet the needs of hurting people, in the name of Jesus Christ, through prayer support, Biblical counseling, hospital visits, benevolent assistance, food & clothes closet and local jail ministry.
Prayer Support
Prayer is at the heart and soul of everything we do at Deep Creek Baptist Church. Pastors are available to pray with you during office hours. For emergency prayer requests, a pastor is on call after 5:00 pm, and on weekends. To contact a pastor please call, 757-487-2182. If it is after hours, follow the automated instructions for reaching the “Pastor on Call.”
Benevolent Assistance
Deep Creek Baptist Church has allocated funds to be used to provide benevolent assistance to individuals experiencing a verifiable emergency. These funds are jointly managed by the Deacons and the Associate Pastor for Care. Funds are limited and all requests will be thoroughly researched before assistance is provided. Food & Clothes Closet
Our Food & Clothes closet maintains a limited variety of nonperishable food, used clothing & shoes. These items are provided free as an act of Christ’s love and compassion. There are special allotments of food during Thanksgiving and Christmas. The closet is open on Tuesday, 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. Volunteer workers are always welcomed. Donations of nonperishable food, used clothing and cash donations are greatly appreciated. Please contact Jean and Buddy Isom at 487-2172.
Chesapeake Jail Ministry
Monthly visits to the Chesapeake city Jail and the Tidewater Detention Home are made by the Associate Pastor for Care, as well as, other volunteers. These visits provide spiritual healing, hope and restoration to both adult and adolescent inmates. Volunteers are welcome. Contact Chaplain Brinton Joyner at 757-382-8399.
